Alexandra Kingston (born 11 March 1963 in London) is a British actress best known for her role as Elizabeth Corday in ER.
Kingston has appeared in a number of television dramas, including Crocodile Shoes, Moll Flanders and The Knock and has also guested in The Bill. She was turned down for a role on Desperate Housewives for being too curvy.
Film credits include The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989), A Pin for the Butterfly (1994), Croupier (1998), and Boudica (2003).
In 2006 she joined Christian Slater in the West End in London to play Nurse Ratched (played by Louise Fletcher on film).
Kingston attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts where she met actor Ralph Fiennes. They married in 1993, shortly before the death of her mother-in-law, Jennifer Lash. They divorced in 1997, after Fiennes began seeing the considerably older actress, Francesca Annis.
She married her second husband, German photographer Florian Haertel in 1998, and they have one child, Salome Violetta, who was born in March 2001 in Los Angeles, California.
